“I feel the pulse of possibility because that’s when we build, create, and rise together.” – Aduieka.
At DMV Music Alliance, we believe our strength lies in the people who power the movement behind the scenes. This August, we’re proud to spotlight Aduieka Manaswi, our Director of Operations, whose vision, systems, and heart help keep our grassroots engine running.
Building Systems That Empower Creativity
When Aduieka first joined DMV Music Alliance, she came on board as a Project Manager. Soon after, she transitioned into the role of Director of Operations during an organizational restructure. That leap gave her the opportunity to grow her leadership style—collaborative, systems-driven, and impact-focused.
“I love creating processes that empower teams, foster accountability, and keep creativity flowing.”
From automating workflows in ClickUp and Zapier to managing events with Eventbrite, Aduieka quickly adapted to new tools and challenges. In just five months, she has become a cornerstone of operational efficiency at DMVMA.
A Personal Mission of Equity and Inclusion
One of Aduieka’s favorite projects has been leading our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives—work that will help DMV Music Alliance secure essential grants from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH).
She recalls how this work transformed her:
“I’d heard about DEIA in other organizations but never truly understood its impact until now. This experience opened my eyes to its importance and deepened my commitment to building a more inclusive community.”
With guidance from our co-founder Dani Weymouth, Aduieka also helped design surveys that shaped our DEIA approach, bringing measurable change to our internal culture and our outreach.
Growth Through the DMVMA Community
Being part of DMVMA has expanded Aduieka’s professional and personal horizons. She’s gained new skills in project and operations management, sharpened her teamwork, and discovered her adaptability.
Her passion for nonprofit work is also inspired by her mother, who dedicated over a decade to the nonprofit sector in India. Aduieka now channels that legacy into strengthening DMV Music Alliance’s infrastructure—ensuring that artists in the DMV don’t need to leave to find love and opportunity.
Why DMVMA’s Work Matters
For Aduieka, the Alliance is vital to reshaping the DMV music scene:
“We may not be LA or New York, but with the strength of the DMVMA community, we have the potential to reach that level. DMVMA provides the infrastructure, resources, and collaborative network that local artists need to grow, thrive, and gain recognition.”
She sees collaboration and connection as the key to the DMV scene’s future. By fostering inclusive spaces where diverse voices can come together, the community can amplify opportunities for all.
Final Thoughts from Aduieka
Being part of DMV Music Alliance has changed how she views the music industry:
“Music is much more than entertainment—it’s a tool for community building, cultural expression, and social change. Supporting grassroots efforts that uplift diverse voices is essential for creating equitable opportunities.”
For anyone thinking of joining, Aduieka says:
“It’s an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, grow professionally, and contribute to innovative projects. DMV Music Alliance provides a collaborative environment where your voice truly makes a difference.”
