Music Industry Experience (MIE) Program

We’re thrilled to announce the MIE (Music Industry Experience) Program, which connects our community partners with a diverse pool of students, mentees, interns, volunteers, and other promising professionals who are eager to gain real-world experience from, contribute their skills to, and receive mentorship in one or more facets of the music industry. These individuals include aspiring musicians, producers, event planners, marketing professionals, and more.

Our community partners, comprised of non-profit organizations and for-profit companies within Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, include venues, recording studios, artist managers, non-profits, media companies, and more.

High School Students, College Interns, Volunteers, and those looking for Mentorships can all utilize our program!

On the first day, students will get a through overview of everything we do, the social and industry reasons behind it all, and the solutions/initiatives we have launched and are in the process of launching. • social media posting utilizing multiple platforms and multiple types of content
  • updating the content on our website which is built with WordPress
  • helping to find sponsors and grants
  • creating fundraising campaigns
  • helping to recruit and coordinate street team members
  • researching events we can have tables at and reaching out to those event organizers

Specific Programs:

  • researching health & wellness resources
  • helping to put together our health & wellness event
  • researching and reaching out to venues
  • researching experts in the music industry who would be willing to hold a workshop
  • helping to coordinate workshops and networking events
