THE DMV MUSIC PORTAL: A JOINT INITIATIVE BY COMMUNITY PARTNERS
The DMV Music Portal is a centralized, web-based repository of tools, information, and resources for specifically for our region’s music industry, musicians, and all our industry professionals. The Portal will initially focus on the following functionality:
DIRECTORY:
- Search for industry services, resources, musicians, and other industry professionals in a directory of online profiles
- Add and promote your own listings
- Communicate directly with others in the directory
COMMUNITY:
- Communicate with other right in the Portal via Instant Messaging
- Add people to your network
- Create groups
- Submit reviews and ratings
EVENT CALENDAR:
- View a calendar of industry and music events
- Attend virtual events right within the Portal
- Add your own events and sell tickets
MARKETING & PROMOTION:
- Post to the community wall
- Post your music, videos, and services
- Request additional marketing & PR services
NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Utilize our integrated booking platform
- Search for or become a mentor
- Network with alumni
- Get referrals for industry services
JOB BOARD AND WANT-ADS:
- Access the job board
- Add your own vacancies
- Post ads and search for bandmates, instruments, and equipment
